Ronald "Ronnie" Magsanoc (born April 11, 1966) is a former Filipino professional basketball point guard. He was the former assistant coach of the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants and a color commentator for the television coverage of the Philippine Basketball Association. He is now an assistant coach of the Meralco Bolts. Magsanoc played collegiate ball with Benjie Paras and Eric Altamirano for the University of the Philippines, where he won a championship in 1986, before moving on to play professional basketball in the Philippine Basketball Association.[1] During his stint in the PBA, Al Mendoza christened him as The Point Laureate.[2] He joined the league in 1988 and became the lead point guard of the Shell team that not only had 1989 MVP winner Benjie Paras but also perennial best import winner Bobby Parks. He was also a member of the 1990 Philippine National Team which finished with a silver medal. He also played for Sta. Lucia (after being traded for Gerry Esplana) and Purefoods. In 2000, Magsanoc was named a member of the PBA's 25 Greatest Players.[3]
